Actually, I disagree with aggie, you should make sure you are warmed up before you stretch! When you first wake up, your muscles are usually pretty tight from sleeping. If you have time in the morning, I would exercise a little (cardio, jumping jacks, jump rope, jogging, frog jumps, stairs) and then stretch slowly. Make sure you are stretching a lot of different muscles and not just one area. While you are watching t.v. or listening to music, you can get on the floor and stretch. I like to do some toning exercises also like sit-ups or push-ups at this time also, but whatever you would like to do. You can also ask your ballet teacher for some specific stretches or just do basic stretches. Good luck!

well you have to stretch. Stretch twice a day. In the morning when you wake up and at night before you go to bed. You will definitely see results! Good luck!!!

ppl are born at different levels of flexibility but you definitely are not at your maximum potential...just stretch five or six times a day. i do not think twice is enough. if you watch tv then stretch for one or two commercials. that is how long you should be stretching each time, just a few minutes. it is not good to overstretch, even though that sounds stupid.

stretch...its the only way to force your body to bend in ways that it cant....try yoga or pilates too

Strech every day and always strech when you're warm, this is how you become more flexible. Strech in between centre combos. and in between barre and centre.

At home strech after you take a shower. or while you're doing your homework. Also when you're streching sit in that one position for a long time.

If you already have your splits, prop your front foot on something and stay there for a while before switching. do the same during Chinese splits or spilts in second position.

i agree with everyone else, the best thing you can do is stretch, but make sure u run for like 2 min so ur muscles are warmed up so u don't hurt yourself. and 5-6 TIMES A DAY??? i think thats too much. either two little stretches or one big stretch is all you need. just work on it!

You could take palates...that will help you. You could also just stretch in class, the people there will help also. You should just get a partner and start doing anything that you can feel a pull or stretch. If should work on the splits because Ballet requires a lot of high kicks and leaps. Believe me, I've been taking Ballet for 10 years now, I think I know what I'm talking about.

There are three good things to do.
1) The best thing is to stretch. There are so many good stretches that will make you really flexible. You can try this site http://www.drillobsession.com or search stretching on You Tube. Be sure that you do the stretches as correct as possible. Stretching demands a lot of time. Personally i stretch an hour a day, but that also helps a lot!
2) Do yoga
3) Do pilates
