Question:can i be flexible at age 17 like putting my legs up high and do a split i want to be real flexible i dont want to be a ballet dancer at all i just want to be good at almost all types of dance and i think flexibilty is a good part of it also

you are still at a young age therefore work hard by attending stretching classes and starting classical. classical is the BASIS for flexibilty and being able to dance ALL sorts of dance. classical will help you with jazz, contemporary moder, broadway styles, etc...evey great dancer starts with classical as the BASE.... To be able to do all sorts of dances DOES NOT ONLY REQUIRE FLEXIBILITY. This requires determination and coordination, and speed. These are things that require training.

Being extremely limber/flexible is not too good, so watch out for that also. Go to classes at least 1 hour a day eveyday of the week (to start with) and you'll see and feel a difference , it just takes time. It also takes hard-work and commitement.

The older you get the harder it is to START being flexible, but that doesn't mean you aren't able to,still watch out for the natural aging process and stiffness of your body. (at your age...no worries :-)) OBVIOUSLY YES!

Stretch lots!! The more you stretch the more limber/flexible you will become.

yeah! you definitely can. i'm 20 and people comment all the time on how flexible i am and ask if i am a dancer. funny thing is, i've never taken a dance class (even though i really, really wanted to).

if you want some place to start, i would suggest finding how-to videos on youtube or expertvillage.com. look up streches, gymnastics, ballet, and other dances. maybe even ice skating. just be careful not to overdo it.

Yes, anyone can be flexible no matter what age..? As long as you stretch. And yes you're right, flexibility is a big part of dancing.

they r answering ur question coming from a cheerleader and dancer. u must strech every day its the only way 2 become flexible yes . u can become flexible @ 17 but U HAVE 2 strech

Some people are naturally more flexible than others so they don't have to work at it. Others have to work at it really hard but there is nothing keeping you from become really flexible. So to answer your question, yes you can become flexible at 17.

although it does get harder with age you can definitley get flexible!!!!!! im 100% sure. it only really gets harder when your past 30- but even then nothing can really stop you from getting flexibles whenever you want!

Definitely. It'll take a lot of practices and time but trust me, you will be flexible.
You shall go to youtube.com and look at Jolin Tsai (Taiwan singer)'s MV. She's 20 something and still gets more flexible each and every day.
You'll just need to believe in yourself and practice more. Do not strain yourself though! Hope this will be a motivation for you! :) Keep it up yo!
