Position:Home>Dancing> Dance Certification?

Question:I am a freshman in college, minoring in Dance, and I was wondering if one needed a dance licence or dance certification to own and teach a dance school? Or if it was laws by state....
My little sister is in dance in wyoming and Im not sure that her dance instructor is a real professional or has any experience at all considering her dance techniques, walmart bought costumes, and such...
With my experience, I have danced for seven years, and have never saw these kinds of things happen...

Actually no, you don;t need a license to teach dance. You would think so, but no. But you're experience dancing in school will make you very marketable!

nope u don't need a certificate or anything... even though it makes whole lot more sense 2 have one... but the studios with teachers that WOULD pass getting certified usually do a lot better than the others...so if u have good experience i would suggest opening a studio... if u want 2... u can never have 2 many good ones!!!

**god luck if u decide 2 open one!

You've never seen anyone buy a dance costume at Wallmart and so you think they are unprofessional? My dance teacher is a trained professional who has worked with many of the top choreographers in the world, and she took us to Nike to buy our costumes the day of the performance. I wouldn't be so quick to judge if I were you. If your sister likes it then why should care?

You do need a good knowledge before you can teach. Certificates are just some "qualification proves" in order there are any of call-in or walk-in ask about.

When u like a instructor, you don't like him /her after you saw his/her certs, but you see or dance with them.

Dancing is about passion, comfortable and styling. Thats was youreally want to care about, rather than how many championship they entered / won, or how many professional cert they have.

But, Of course, these certs will be added advantage for you to promote your studio & your class. "rich" people don't learn from nobody. They learned from "Pro" which will definitely not guarantee them to become Professional Dancer later.

IT'S YOU TO DECIDE IF YOU ARE A GREAT DANCER.
