Question:I just started taking African Dance in September, but i'm not very flexible. How can I get my muscles relaxed. I also want to take Ballet and Hip Hop in January. What should I do to be a great dancer? This is my first dance class ever, and I want to be the best at it.

Definitely stretch as much as possible!! Don't stretch until it hurts, just work on your splits, back bends, front bends, etc. If you want to be a great dancer, listen to your instructor!! They know the technique and they want to teach it to you!! Also go to class as much as possible!!! Good luck!

Ballet is a very good way to get more flexible. It is a lot of stretching and work but it is fun and it will pay off if you want to be flexible

You should take some yoga classes ..thats what my dance instructor told me but im waay to lazy lol.

stretch during homework, tv, or a boring time. Dance with your emotions. If you miss a beat, thats okay, just keep dancing and smiling! Be sure to get the right attire, the cleaner-cut and simpler and neater you are, the neater, cleaner, sharper you will dance!

Well I must say that dance is turly a hard thing to be the best at it all but flexibilty comes from streching and more streching but some people aren't capiable because their bodies can not physically handle it so if your body can't just choose a form of dance that your body can do
