A nice piece of 3/4 4f t x 8ft ac Plywood would probable do what you want. Use a good polyurethane on the A side and give it a few days to dry. you can then just store it against a wall in your garage and bring it down when you want to use it. should not cost for that about $50 total. which leave you some money to buy a mirror.

If it is too sticky sprinkle baby powder on it before dancing. conversely if it is to slippery sprinkle laundry detergent or resin on it before dancing.

You can purchase a dance floor from any dance supply store or even online. I found this : http://www.americanportabledancefloors.c...

HOWEVER, I really think they're really expensive and a hassle to store. You should practice in the living room or so, try to make space for yourself. If you want to improve through dance excercise, I would buy a yoga mat and do floor-barre which is actually pilates.

not sure what type of dancing tap??? you can tap anywhere cement will make your taps not so slippery!

You know what may work just looking at old homes scrapes when someone gets something new like a floor and see if you can make your own!
all you need is wood!
or jsut get a dance mat! if there is such thing!
