Dance team.. or not?!?

Question:.. well im a sophomore in high school, i have tried out for dance team 2 years, and haven't made it. all my friends on it we so surprised that i didn't. i haven't been dancing forever, since i was 2. im not bad, i have won big competitions and everything, our dance team at school is amazing. like we win state and everything. i don't know if i should try out again. help me!! i feel like the judges only care about how you look. im not one of the popular girls and i might not be super skinny, but im not fat. dancing is just my passion! HELLPP!!!
PROS...
1) recognition
2) get to do what i love
3) more friends

CONS
1) everyone gets drunk all the time
2) they might not accept me into thier "group"
3) i won't make it and ill be soo embarassed!

As a dancer and a dance teacher I say go for it. Show them the gift of dance that you have. If dance is what you love then you should audition.

Who are the judges? Captains and Co Captains of the team (students) or advisors (teachers)? This is a bit fustrating because sometimes auditions and or tryouts get a little political as known as who is more popular which is totally unfair and everyone should get a fair audition.

I performed three years in my high school talent show and I never won. I am a very good dancer. I am a dance teacher now. I performed in the talent shows because I love dancing. I finally realized that the talent show was about who was popular at the time was going to have there name and or names in lights.

Audition and have fun because you are doing what you love. I am sending many best wishes to you to go out there and show them what you've got. You will do well!!! I hope that gave you inspiration.

do watever u feel comfortable but GO FOR IT u will never achieve ur dreams if u dont chase them!!!!!....!!!!...!!!! and it wont be the end of the world if u dont make it u will just have 2 work harder

I would Say go for it. Im on my high schools dance team. im a sophomore too, but it is so much fun. im not super skinny either. but let me say if you do make it, itll be the most fun youve ever had. i say go for it, and if you dont make it, oh well and just know that your a good dancer and compete with a studio. I don't see why you didn't make it onto the dance team. Some schools and judges are just like that, taking 'popular girls only.' I'm pretty sure you should have made the team, did they tell you why not? Or maybe they only accept people with like 2 years and below or such? Do you know what steps they do? My friend is like you except at her school the dance team is like gay...It's like step clap step clap :O
