Position:Home>Dancing> I don't have any ballet schools near by. Do you know of any ballet classes o

Question:Beginning ballet should never be attempted without a real, live teacher if your goal is to learn real ballet rather than just pretending that you know ballet for the rest of your life. The learning of all physical activities involves not only training your brain but also "muscle memory." If you're learning how to jump rope or ride a bike, it doesn't much matter HOW you do it, as long as you get the job done. However with ballet, which is extremely precise, it is very important that you train that muscle memory correctly from the outset or else you'll implant improper technique that would be very hard to unlearn.

Unless you live on a ranch that is 50 miles to the nearest town, I find it hard to believe that you don't have any ballet schools near by. Go to Google Maps and insert your zip code, then click on "Find businesses" and type in "dance studios." Call up those studios and ask if they offer ballet.

Good luck.
