Spotting, pulling up, and squaring the hips are ESSENTIAL to a successful fouette. The best way to practice is to do them at the bar, stopping yourself in between rotations. Once you get the feel, move center floor, make sure not to break the line of the hip, and don;t let the moving leg turn under.
