Can I start ballet at my age?

Question:I am 14, but I look like 17! I did ballet about 9 years ago but didnt stay. Now I want to re-start. But all the begginer ballet classes I see are for little kids, and It'd be really awkward since Im so much bigger lol. So...yeah?

of course you can start ballet at any age you just need to have a passion for it and work very hard. I started ballet last year when i was 14 and this year im doing pointe. and alot of studios offer private classes so you wouldnt feel awkward. just work hard and have fun!!

Sure you can! This time around though you will enjoy it. I'm 28 and wanting to start back up too so it's never too late.

yes of course you can. You have to find an adult class. Most places offer adult classes if not ask some of them they may be able to direct you the right direction. Go for it you only live once. you can do it .

YES!.....almost anyone can learn to dance ...... ballet is a little harder though but if u pratice really hard then u should be fine!......... finding a dance class is not hard at all just look for 1 around u...... I started dance when i was 3 I did every dance there were but when I was 9 I just took jazz and tap and took that till last year and now I'm taking ballet this year! ..... because I've took ballet before it's not that hard!..... but a lot different then jazz and tap!!......I think u should go for it!

well u can take ballet now. altho u may look 17 they wont put with little kids they will put u with another group.

Yes you can. We have this girl at our studio who didn't start ballet until she was 30 and she is doing just fine. Depending on where you will be taking lesson is where you will start out in. There might be a teen/adult class or ,like we do, any newer older member does one advanced class a week. Plus, with you doing it when you were little all of the basic stuff is just there somewhere in your head. Good Luck!
