Yea i do that to my shoes all the time. just soak them in water for a while, or even run them under the faucet if you just want to do it in one spot, warm water works best.

Yes! You just let the tips set into water for about 20 minutes, if every couple of minutes take them out and bend them about. I had to do this and will have to again, hopefully next year.

i have heard from all of my friends that it is true. when they need to soften a spot, they get it wet.

not a very good answer, but that's all i know

You must be a real beginner on pointe? I'm a NYC Ballet dancer. You don't want to break in pointe shoes while in training because your feet need the support until they become stronger. Once your feet become stronger they will break in pointe shoes in no time.
Once you are accomplished and need your point shoes for stage or a master class and don't have time to break your pointe shoes in you can dip the tips in water while they are on your feet. It will stop you from slipping and they will mold to your feet while you dance. DONT USE TOO MUCH WATER!
If your arches are already strong, try taking a razor blade and cut the shank in half, that will also give your legs a nice line.

nooo, dont do that to your shoes!

the only time we've used water in classes is when the vamp wont bend because its too stiff and we put a little touch of water on the top.

work through your shoes, your feet will get stronger and your shoes will last longer.
