Position:Home>Dancing> Dancers block?????

Question:I am choreographing a dance for the school talent show (it's a lyrical solo) and I have some ideas for moves in my head (I wrote them down too so I won't forget) but I just can't think of any more moves, and an order in which to put the moves I already have into the song I think I want to do!!!! How do I get passed this creative block stopping me form choreographing (which normally comes easy to me)!?!?!?! Should I change the song, right now it's Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, but if you have any suggestions on songs that are somewhat similar to that please tell me!

And any tips for choreographing a dance is welcome! THANKS A LOT!!!!!

I get exactly the same thing. Perhaps you should change the song because you usually make moves to go with the song.

Have a look at some of your dance studios old DVD's or try and remember other routines and see if you can alter the steps.

I will edit this with some youtube links, when I get back on :)

i've gotten this before..so i started coreographing songs as soon as i thought to coreograph haha. dont change the song unless totally necessary. if you dont like it, or nothing works with it.

whats best to do is just turn on the song and start dancing around and normally something can work good or you find something you like and then even just one move can help you find good moves to do after.

its kind of hard to explain, so just dance around and it will come to you.

good luck!
