Do you know of any Collages on the west coast that have a dance program???

Question:I am am dancer and 4 some reason im looking into collages as a freshman. i know that wen my senior year is almost over i won't want to stop dancing. so im looking 4 collages that have like a dance school or dance program or like a performing school on the west coast! do u know of any???!!! please help!

Actually, starting to look into college dance programs as a freshman is none too soon since it takes a lot of legwork to go check them out in person. I could rattle off dance programs in California, but that won't do you much good because you haven't clarified your background in dance and what you want to do with it in the future. Every college dance program is different, so each one is good for a different purpose. Your goal, then, would be to find the right program for YOU.

Purchase a copy of the Dance Magazine College Guide

and read through it in order to get a sense of the variety of programs. Then start arranging visits to see them, and especially be sure to attend their performances.

Also know that there are many ways to keep dancing and still major in something else. Just saying you won't want to stop dancing should not be the only reason to become a dance major.
