try to put this in your mind, while your dancing, listen to the music, really feel the music. close your eyes while you dance, pretend there are no people around you, pretend you are alone or try to think your friend is even worse at dancing and your trying to teach the person your moves. lastly loosen your body and release all your bad thoughts.

because you have no ability.

ITS PROBABLY NOT IN YOU BLOOD. LOL

some people have the knack for it and some don't. sorry sweetie :(

You need to find your rhythm and it takes practice rome was not built in a day.

good luck

Edit: Dr. Phil hahaha?

Some can't dance. Some can't sing.
Some pretty. Some ugly.
Some smart. Some dumb.
That's just the way it is. That's why.

Maybe you have 2 left feet.

im the same way thats why i play DDR(Dance Dance Revolution)

Because you have two left feet.

Cut one off, and get a foot donation.

because you think you can't. stay positive!! never say can't!!!!

I cheered in high school and I was always the last to get a hang of the dances. I was, and still am, a bad dancer. Movements are just awkward for me and for all the girls I cheered with, it came so naturally. It was really frustrating but I just had to take more time to learn them and go over the steps piece-by-piece, a million times. It's just a natural talent for some people--the same way some people remember facts faster than others.

Because it takes time and training. People who learn quickly can because they have experience. However, from dancing with so many other people I know that some people just don't have it and many many years of dance won't do a lot to change that. If you've only been dancing for a few years.... wait it out you'll get better. You may have to just do extra practice at home.

Well, I can't dance either (not very well lol). Some people just don't have as much rythym and cordination as others, just like everyone can't really sing. When I go somewhere, I used to just stick to the cha-cha slide, electric slide, ect. You just got to get out there and try it, as long as you're having fun it's all good. Oh, and I know people that have much potential, but they dance stiff. You just got to feel the music and put expression into it. Again, just remember to have fun. Happy Holidays?

I think dancing is like sports--they are both physical, and some people have a gift for them, some don't. That doesn't mean you can't learn the rules, or steps, and get better with practice. Everybody's wired differently, though, and some of us are not wired for dancing ability. If you enjoy it, just do your best and don't worry about the rest. There are lots of kinds of dance, too--which I'm sure you know. If you are saying you aren't good at hip hop, maybe you would be good at swing, or something. You can also always learn to play in a band, and then you will be able to enjoy the music without having to dance!

Listen to the words of the Brad Paisley song Alchohol and the hook line will tell you why you can't dance maybe....I know I sure can't!

Because you need to relax... dancing should be fun! If you're stiff it's because you're concentrating too hard! Practice at home by yourself for a while and learn to relax!

i'm a dancer. so i think you just need to pay attention closely. ask questions. it doesn't hurt too ask. don't be embarassed. also practice. practice makes perfect. i hope this helps.

Of course you can dance!!

But although the degree to which you know how to express yourself in this form may be limited now, with the right practice you can get better.

It's like bowling or swimming. The very first time you do it, you won't be perfect at it, unless you are a "natural". So patience while learning the proper technique will do wonders.

Here are a few ways to improve your technique :-

1) Watch a video of someone who you think dances very well.
2) By looking in a mirror, try to imitate the same moves, and note how well you are able to mimic the steps.

You should be able to see if.. you are not flexible enough in the hips or knees, or perhaps your timing is too fast, or slow.

Focus on one thing, make it better, then move on to the next.

Good Luck!

What kind of dancing are we talking about? Like a group in a bar or a school dance? Or are you trying to learn the Cha-cha? I think what everyone else is saying is right. Relax, have fun, if your of age...have a drink or 3. Even though you feel everyone is staring at you, really they are wondering if they have it right. Keep trying. A clumsy dancer is a whole lot more fun to be around than someone who refuses to dance.

For dancing you will have to join some Learning center which will tell you about the timing structure and will help you with certain aerobics exercises. I suggest you to join Noida Salsa/Dance Center located in Sector 41, Noida. They can be reachable at +91 9899538866.

It's because you're second-guessing yourself and over-thinking the movement. It also seems like you're following the lead of others instead trusting your own movement, I think everyone in one way or another can dance, some better than others and some get it faster than others, practice always makes perfect, but trust in yourself, take a deep breath, relax and go for it.

Not everyone can dance .
I know a lot of people that can't :O
