Do guys in your Ballet class...?

Question:Do the guys in your ballet classes shave their legs, because I was thinking that probably would look nasty having hair coming through your tights. I didn't want to show up and be the only one that didn't have my legs shaved and look ridiculous. If I do need to have my legs smooth, what is better for a guy to do shave or wax and are there any tricks to doing, and how often do you do it? Thanks for your help.

DON'T SHAVE! If there are any shaving requirements, it would be for a performance. Til then, please stop worrying and simply communicate with the studio. I'm worried you might get some poor advice, here, when you have no way to assess how good it is. Also, please check out The Men's Forum at Ballet Talk for Dancers.

The people there are very knowledgeable about anything to do with male ballet dancers.

well, don't shave them. you aren't supposed to be able to see your legs with the black tights. Even guys at certain studios who have to wear shorts, dont shave them. and you are supposed to wear a short sleve or long sleve shirt, but more commonly the long sleve

none of the guys at my studio do and it's a dance company.

you know what, there are no guys in my ballet class but i think that if you prefer to shave your legs then you should. to me personally it wouldn't make you any less of a guy...i mean, so what. in this you should go on your own judgement and not care of what others are gonna say about you because if you are doing it for your ballet then hey, okay. i see where you are coming from about the hair coming through your tights, but honestly thats why they make thicker tights for the males. but whatever. if you feel like you should, then shave away and if you think it wouldn't be best then that's up to you.

well, normally you can't see the hair through the tights. most guys dont shave because its really a hassel and gets really annoying after a while haha so only if you really can see your leg hair through the tights...

and if guys in a company dont then you defenitally dont unless you are told...and you wont look ridiculous lol.

Good advice not to bother shaving unless performances call for it. Shaving is a hassle....I would not bother to shave my legs unless you wear shorts to class and are really hairy. If you wear tshirts to class I'd not bother shaving my armpits, but if you go sleeveless you might think about it as some ballerinas might think a mass a wet armpit hair is sorta gross.

the guys in my ballet class wore something similar to leggings and a white shirt during classes,and they didnt shave their arms.
