Question:I have been doing dance for 10 years and I was in Ballet III this first semester. Next semester I cant do Ballet III (Its on tuesdays and i will have volleyball) And Im taking Pre Pointe are there any tips or warnings? (Im 13)

be sure to work on your ankle and arch strength and flexibility as well at home while doing homeowork or watching tv...so just be sure to work on that and be careful at first to help your feet get used to being in pointe. because its not all that natural to be dancing on the tip of your toes at first but it gets easier. and just have fun and work hard =)

Work hard and practice at home. When I was taking pre-pointe, I was doing a 100 releve's everyday, in addition to 100 tendu's. I suggest a Thura Band. It stregnths the muscles in your ankles. It will be really hard at first, but eventually, it will get a lot easier! Good Luck, and enjoy your dancing.

make sure you work on strengthening your ankles and metatarsal muscles.
