Position:Home>Dancing> I am a great singer and I am confident in myself but?

Question:If your on stage you cant just stand there right? You have to dance but I dont have the talent of dancing so does they ruin my dream completely? I love performing on stage but all i really do is stand and move around a bit but I think I could be better if I could dance along with it a little. Im just wondering, If you don't have the talent of dancing can you get any better? Should I get lessons or how can I improve? (By the way I just turned 13 in October.) Thanks in advance,

It really depends on what you're singing...if you're singing ballads you wouldn't want to be dancing around anyway! And if you are singing a faster song, too much dancing could tire you out, making you resort to (yuck) lip-syncing!

If you DO decided to dance as well, pick some simple moves...don't worry trying any tough hip hop or ballet moves or anything. Look at female singers during their concerts and watch what they do...for example Jennifer Lopez (she sings and sort-of, sometimes dances).

And of COURSE you can learn to dance. Natural talent helps, but if you really are a great singer, your audience will be more focused on that.

Good luck!

yes, most professional singers take dance lessons to do that part. or you can be a studio singer and not perform in public.

The majority of singers are not good dancers.
Here are some male and female ;
Stevie Nicks
Janice Joplin
Robert Plant
Ann Murray
Carly Simon
James Taylor
and this list can go on and on.
An on stage presence is very important,
however it doesn't have to be dancing.

Yeah. I would suggest taking dancing lessons. If you want to be famous (especially for Broadway) it helps if you can sing, dance, and act.

Well I think youshould dance because it will get more peopole attention and some people like singers that dance because it's more entertaining. So yeah done do the beonce' but dont do what your doing now but if you feel that you should dance then dance! And like you said you don't have the talent, but you really want to then you should learn how to dance.!Glad to help!
