Position:Home>Dancing> Leather or Canvas? Full Sole or Spilt?

Question:I'm getting new ballet shoes b/c
my other pair got completely thrashed
doing a recital; they were canvas sanshas
split soles. I liked them alot, but the sole
under my toes wasn't large enough.

Which brand is best for
which style (canvas/leather and full/split)?
Not too sticky, not too slippery?

I wear sansha canvas split sole too :) I'm going to keep on wearing them because I have no problems with them and they're great!

Leather and Canvas both have pros and cons. Canvas is a billion times easier to clean (just chuck it in the wash) while the leather you have to paint but they do come up nicer and they keep that nice pink colour. I also think that Canvas gets dirtier quicker as well.

It's just your own personal preference. If you haven't worn leather before, I suggest you do. I've worn Leather Bloch and Energetiks. Bloch are really nice so I recommend them.

It is different from going to canvas to leather but it's nice to have a change and you may never know-you could just love leather! But defiantly get split sole. I find that they are easier to dance in and if the floor is slippery, you are less likely to fall.

Hope this helps :)

I like leather ballet shoes because they look very nice. I also prefer split sole ballet shoes because they are fairly easy to move in, especially compared to full sole shoes. I don't really have a favorite brand of dance shoes. Just get whichever pair of ballet shoes you feel most comfortable in!

i like split soles. I prefer canvas b/c then u can just throw them in the wash if they get dirty. hmmmm, Capezio and Bloch r good brands. hope i helped!

First off ask your teacher at dance what color you need after that try leather they break in good and try capezio they are the best get a full sole i have them and used them for more then one year and i dance with them 6 hours a week so they are extremleyyyy good

leather shoes last longer than canvas ones, but you can just throw canvas ones in the wash. it all depends on what you prefer dancing in. i like leather because they're more comfortable. the canvas just feels like its constricting my foot.

split sole shoes are way better than full sole shoes. they show off your point way better, and full sole shoes can make your feet look really bad. split sole shoes are good especially for pre-pointe. (or post pointe:))

Many schools require leather ballet slippers. It depends on your teacher whether you get split or full sole.

I heard that full sole makes your foot work harder, therefore better preparing it for pointe. Then again, someone else told me it doesn't matter. I think split sole makes the foot look nicer, though.

I prefer leather to canvas. It looks prettier. What about satin ballet slippers?

I personally like bloch so2 leather split soles. they have a canvas arch so theyre flexible, and i theyre more comfy and durbale than canvas IMO

I wear Sasha canvas split sole and I really like them, I think they're really pretty, the only thing is mine get worn out quickly if I'm dancing alot. Leather split sole with a single elastic highlights your arch, so I'm thinking of getting those next...leather doesn't stick to the floor as far as I know.
I've never liked full sole, it feels funny on my foot and I don't know why I just don't like them. It's really a personal preference thing I think.
