Question:I sometimes tend to sickle in my passes & i was wondering if any of you could help me perfect my passes, any advice or any pictures/videos/websites

Your heel should not touch the standing leg. When practcing, stretch your leg ut to a la second, if youre leg is fully extended, you have no choice but to point from the ankle as opposed to sickling. Get used to that feeling, then apply it to sour le cou de pied, gradually raising it to a full passe. If you sickle, it shortens the stretch of the calf muscle, and youll feel the difference. If you think of drawing a line up your standing leg with your working toe, it helps your extensions!

Try think less instead of more. I used to have the same problem and always thought that I was going to have to point my foot really hard in order to unsickle my foot. But really you should think less. Instead of trying to point your foot really hard, just point it without thinking about it to much. Sooner or later you wont sickle your foot anymore and you can go back to trying to point your foot really hard. (Because your foot is already used to be unsickled, it will stay that way.)

Just focus on mkaing it unsickled. Still point your foot and lift your thigh, but just don't focus on it as much as unsickling it. Eventully, it will become turned out and you can focus more on height and pointing your foot.

While you're doing your passes, don't think about not sickling at all. When you're in front of your standing leg, think about pushing your heel away from your leg. Only your working toe should be touching your standing leg. This will naturally turn you out. When you're in back, think about pushing your toe away from your leg. Only your working heel should be touching your standing leg. Once again, this should naturally turn you out. My ballet prof swears by it, and it's helped me. Good luck!
