Position:Home>Dancing> The nutcracker ballet, please help...?

Question:My wife and I are considering going to see the nutcracker next month (dec 2007). Neither of us have ever been to a ballet and we were wondering whether the entire show was dancing (ballet) or part dancing and part acting (with dialogue). Sorry if this seems like a stupid question...

It's all dancing. And it's not a stupid question if you've never seen a ballet before. As was said above, they might announce what's going on in the plot, but it'll probably be in your program. Never turn down getting the program, it has EVERYTHING.

There is acting in it though, just pantomime. It might seem confusing but you'll get the hang of figuring out what they're doing and "saying".

tiz all ballet

The Nutcracker usually is the dancers on stage with an announcer off stage explaining each scene as it is ready to begin... There are a number of scenes and settings in the Nutcracker

it's all dancing there is not one single word cept' when the director is doing his thang. and i'm going to the nutcracker too!!! its the Ballet Arts nutcracker and it's ah mazing every year.

It's all ballet. And it's an excellent show, I hope you enjoy it.

It's all dancing. There's acting, but no dialogue at all during the entire ballet.

Have fun, and enjoy the show!

It's all ballet. I guess some companies might add dialogue, but it's traditionaly all ballet.
