to walk barefoot and always point them as hard as you can whenever your just sitting around.

always walk barefoot and have someone massage them everynight as hard as they can

curl your toes when your sitting on the floor and push your ankles forward.

toughen or strengthen?

to toughen walking barefoot is good. or the more you dance en pointe you get tough spots were they are needed.

to strengthen do plie releve and coupe releve while using all muscles to point your toes and arch as much as you can this will help.

basically any barre excersize will help

lots of rises
sit on the ground and curl ur toes
p.s point hurts ................lolz
been doing it for a year

Get a stretchband (aviable at www.22dance.com, on page 5 of pointe shoe accories) and work with it a lot. they come in different strenghts so you can get better as you go.
