Keep working hard and focus in school. Don't ever give up. Even when it get hard, just keep on following your dream.

(part from a poem I wrote)

Because I'll rise up to the top.
Follow where my heart will lead me.
Despite this path is difficult.
I'll overcome the journey.

first keep your school grades up and when you're perhaps a year or two older join a ballet school. good luck

Practice and practice
Don't ever give up and keep working at it!!

if your in a class. there is your training. if there are more than 1 possible classes for you to take at the academy your with, go for it (but keep grades up as the first answer says lol) im taking 4 classes 3 days a week and im getting wayway better than i was when i first started at this place. when your doing homework or watching tv sit in your splits or practice barre work/dances..

good luck!

You can only be as great - at best - as your teachers. If your teachers were never professional performers, then you cannot hope to get that far, yourself. Therefore, if you aim to go far in ballet, you must get the very best training you can find by the very best teachers.

Fourteen year olds should be taking no less than 12 hours of dance classes per week, NOT counting rehearsals, if you wish to be on a pre-professional track. Increase at least one hour per year after that.

You must keep dancing for a portion of your summers, preferably at an intense level for that time so your skills don't suffer from the other non-dancing weeks. If your home studio does not offer intensive summer training with professional teachers (ones who have performed with professional ballet companies), you should attend a summer intensive dance program - especially one where you need to audition to get in. It's a good idea to audition for these programs, anyway, since that will give you experience with auditioning.

I started ballet when I was 11, because up until then, we couldn't afford it. Although I had a late start, I'm really successful now. I'm not a prima ballerina in the most posh company, but here's my 101 in less than a minute. If you want it more than anything else- go for it. Do everything you have to do. Know that there will be a lot of commitment if you really drive for this. Get into a good studio that specializes in ballet. Whatever you do, don't rush things, because sometimes when you do, you'll get more behind. Ask LOTS of questions! And one more important thing- don't let yourself get turned into a robot. Do everything with feeling. Remember- you love to do ballet, and if it's enough, that will get you wherever you want to go. You're going to be great!

Usually in the Summer, ABT offers a summer intensive for like four weeks. If you do this every year you would surely have a chance at least!

when i was your age, (which was not so long ago) i did strength training("dancer's pilates") for an hour every other day, barre exercises for an hour every day, and had dance class for about 1 and 1/2 hours a day. i got into juilliard, so i guess it worked out. there's no secret formula to becoming great - it takes work, work, and more work. by 15-16, most dancers that are serious about ballet have joined companies. good luck.
