Is 20 too old for starting professional ballroom classes?

Question:i would love to compete in professional ballroom, but i think i am too old to start. i have taken classes offered by my middle school, but that is all the opportunity i have had.
am i too old?

Hmm you may be able to compete in masters or seniors pro ballroom circuit because by the time you are ready you will be in that age range.
Even though youre too old to compete in pro adult, you could definetley compete in amatuer!!! :o)

In my opinion, no you are not! I am 20 and I am thinking of doing the same thing. There is nothing wrong with that!

If you are looking to do pro you are a bit on the older side. The people who are professionals are pros because most of them are young and started at 5. If you are doing it because you would like the excercise and want to have fun... I say do it. However, you could be an acception to the rule. You may be really good and may be able to compete. Never give up your dreams!

my dad is 78 and started taking classes 5 years ago. He loves it.

You probably have more control now than when in middle school and with that start, you will catch on very quickly.

not at all. if it were ballet it would be another matter, but i think with ballroom you're fine.

NO, its not too old...one of the Pro's on dancing with the Stars started when he was twenty!

if you have a dream go for it, dont sit back watching the world go by. if i want something i go for it, your never too old and your never too young.
