There is a difference. But, yes, definitely take ballet. It is the foundation for most forms of dance and is the basis for becoming a "classically trained dancer." Without receiving instruction from a qualified ballet teacher, you should not attempt to go en pointe or you're just setting yourself up for potential injuries. Find top notch dance teachers, preferably ones who have danced professionally, themselves, if you're thinking you'd like to go pro. And if you really want to get on the roll, aim for taking about 12 hours of dance classes a week, not counting rehearsals. Increase to at least 15 hours a week by the end of high school. Then do what Sabra did and move to a city that offers real professional dance training if you don't already live in such a place. Only training BY professionals can lead to a professional career. 5'4 and 100 pounds wow. u are kind of old its very rare for someone to end succesfully that age but go for ur goals. im a dancer, more then 30 hours of dance a week just do some ballet classes they wont hurt u |
