Go where you have a lot of space, i use my backyard a lot, but if you don't have a mat make sure you have a friend or parent spotting you. Stretch out then go into a backbend. This is where the "spotter" comes in. Even if it's a parent who knows nothing about gymnastics or dance or cheer, just have them put their hands under your back (they should be putting enough weight on your back that it moves up a little). And then try kicking over as hard as you can. If you don't get it, try again and have the spotter push you over a bit more. Keep doing this untill the spotter doesn't need to push or barely hold you(I know for me it wasn't that i couldn't do it, i was afraid to do it without a spotter in case). Then after maybe a month of working everyday for 10mins, you'll be comfertable with doing it by yourself. Good luck!

have someone work with you on a mat,and make sure you stretch plenty before. lay on the floor and push up into a backbend and work on walking in (feet towards hands) and just kicking over first to get used to it before jumping into something. good luck!
