Question:Whenever I try to do the center splits, the frog, attitudes, etc.(anything that requires hip flexibility),I get this weird, searing pain in my hips...It doesn't feel like a stretch, it feels like my leg is about to rip out of its socket! Any advice?

As a former Figure Skater I think I know the pain your are talking about.

My suggestion is to try going to a Chiropractor. I found out that a lot of my joint pain was & still is caused by a miss alignment of my joints. My Chiropractor was able to teach my certain stretches & exercised to help improve my skeletal health as well as my personal well being.

I have really really bad hips but i love taking dance its my life and i dance everyday of the week so it gets worse with each day during the weekend i soak in a warm tub thats about all that i can do inless i stop dancing which is what i was told to do but i just cant.

This happened to me before! I found out that it was a Potassium deficiency and that I wasn't stretching enough. Take hot baths with epsom salt and rub IcyHot on your hips. If it doesn't improve, then you should go to a doctor. Good luck! ;)

The same thing has been happening to me. It started ever since I landed wrong on my jump splits. In order to make it stop I stopped stretching for a week and I got plenty of rest, making sure that I didn't put to much pressure on my hips,and then I used Icy Hot and Biofreeze. I also took warm showers and then would switch the water to cold. It would be best to not stretch or do any sort of activity for a few weeks. Just take it easy and if it doesn't heal then go see a chiropractor.

you have to stretch will good before you dance or do the splits stretch every day so your body gets use to it ok hope this helps you good luck
