How do you just do simple dancing so you dont look stupid?

Question:My gf's sweet 16 is in a week. This is only going to be the 2nd sweet 16 ive been to, and the 1st one everyone grinded. Ive been to other parties, but again just grinding. Well I know for a fact that there is going to be zero grinding at this party. I know im going to have to do at least one fast and one slow dance with my girlfriend, and theres 2 other girls i know im gonna have to dance with. so, i basically have no clue how to dance at all. i need some tips on very basic dancing to do just so that i dont look stupid. thanks

Just follow the moves everyone else is doing. Pay close attention. Do you have a sister or maybe your mom can show you a few dances?
Ask your gf to come over and show you some moves before the party. Surely there is someone around who can show you.
When I was growing up I had 2 older sisters, we'd listen to records and dance, our mom and dad too! It was lots of fun. American Bandstand was on every Saturday then, and we'd learn some new dances from that too.
I don't know what shows there are now, but am sure there are some.
