i think they are great for any level of pointe. i just got my second pair and that was one of the pair reccomended. it all depends on the foot. sometimes you might need something a little heavier, but i think gaynor mindens are great pointe shoes. just don't get them because you want them, always check with your teacher when you get a new type of pointes, unless your very experienced and you use your own judgement which a lot of experienced dancers do. so when you get them fitted, talk to the shoe fitter for further information and if she reccomends them and they feel like what you may need, then go right ahead and buy them. happy dancing!!!

other professionals wear them, so they must be pretty good!

I've danced for 22 years and I worked in a dance shoppe fitting pointe shoes for a long time. As far as Gaynors, you love them ro you hate them. I personally went throught hem entirely too quickly for them to be my main shoes, they aren't made with fiber carbon so the shank has very little resiliency. However, fi ti takes you awhile, or you have a hard time rbeaking the shoe, you may enjoy them. They are customizable insofar as width, heel width, box width. They are beautiful shoes, but also very expensive. Make sure you get a pro fitting before purchasing them!

i just think theyre very ugly on almost everyone, cant roll through the plastic shank and they do the work for you so you'll never build any strength. i would really recommend trying something else
