How to choreograph a STEP TEAM?

Question:I have this idea for my church to start a Step Team... but the only problem is... i dont know how to choreograph the steps!!!
are there any terms or basic movements that are listed anywhere in order to put them together and make routines?
any tips?

We have a step routine at our church for fine arts and our teacher did not know anything about step so she just came up with some beats and we put them all togeher. There are no terms or anything like that.
