Question:I do ballet, jazz, tap and want to improve my flexibility. I know the most basic way is to stretch, but is there any other ways that i can see quicker results? or any certain stretches that improve it more than others? Thanks!

What kind of flexibility do you want? If your wanting to get your splits, higher kicks or something like that I really suggest this stretch:

Lay on your back and raise one leg, get another person to push against that leg so it goes near your head. Don't let your bum get off the floor though. Hold it for as long as you can and change legs.

If you just want to be more flexible all round then just do your normal stretching exercise but hold it for longer.

To start seeing results you need to be doing it a couple of times a day. Do it when your watching T.V, before you go out etc. etc.

Good Luck and I hope this helps :):)

Get a Yoga and a Pilates cd from the public library and write down the exercises from the cds that relate to the muscles you impact the most, design a 15-20 minute routine and do that once a day other than when you are training (eg morning), and do an hour on the weekend on one night!
Try designing 3 or 5 different exercise routines, and then they compose your one hour on Saturday.

Get four people to tie ropes to your limbs and then get them to pull you. You should stretch in no time! Then you will be a flexible as a rubber band.

Yoga!!

first of all, i think it is a great that you ,a guy, is interested in dance, so kudos to you!. secondly, if you want to improve flexibility, just stretch as much as you can. talk to your teacher to see if they have any suggestions, i don't know your body type so i cannot be of much help to you, but your teacher will definately have some good answers for you.

good luck
