School Dance?

Question:okay i am in 7th grade and their is a dance comming up!!! Well i havent been asked yet?/ will i ever be asked should i still go if im not asked? how am i suppose to dance with a guy? where do my hands go where do his please help!

First off, Im a freshman and i've had to deal with the same situation.
To answer your questions, Yes you should go if you arent asked. Honestly nobody really asks anyone to regular dances (if its like prom or something then yes you'll be asked) But a regular dance is no biggy.
Just get with your closest friends and go together. Trust me, Going with friends is so much funner than going with a guy! lol
I was terrified to dance with a guy my first time too. It's like one of those things that seem like such a big deal, Like a first kiss type of thing. But if you stay calm then things will go fine. First you walk to the floor together. Put your hands on his shoulders, (he'll put his on your waist). Then you just move with the music. (Trust me you cant mess up. He'll most likely be just as nervous as you are!)

I am taking it for granted that you are a young lady.

Ask your Mom or a close friend to teach you some steps or moves.
Ask your Mom to help you with clothes and a little makeup. Not too much. Makeup is to enhance your looks. Too muck makes you look like a clown.
Be patient. You will be asked. Have fun.

You could always, you know, ask someone yourself if you really really want a date. If you don't, just go with a group of friends, and it will be more fun anyway.

If it's a slow dance, your hands go around his neck and his hands go on your waist.

as a freshman and survivor of numerous other dances...
if it's an open dance, you don't need to go with a guy, but you can dance with other guys there.
but if it's a dance where most people bring dates along, keep your chin up and breathe. the guys are just as nervous as you are.
for slow dancing, his hands go on your waist (it's awkward at first) and yours go on his shoulders or around his neck. you sort of just sway with the music, it'll come naturally.
if you're not asked, go. it'll be fun.
