In modern dance, I have seen the larger boned woman be equally as beautiful and graceful as the thin.

It depends a lot on your training and the type of dance (ballet) you wish to perform.

I was always lead to believe tall and thin. Now I see muscular and not as tall. I also think that the choreographer has a lot to do with what you dance.

Legs can help with jumps but if the training is not as good, it doesn't really matter.

women who are short (anywhere from 5'3" down) have a huge advantage over taller girls because short girls are easy to lift. also the less a ballerina weighs the better. 105 and under is good. idk about leg length, longer legs look more graceful. the torso should be thin and the girl needs to have very good posture ect, but that just comes with ballet. the most impacting features are height and weight.. short and suuuuper thin
