genreally if you're trying out for a professional dance school, they are very harsh. They will check you have the right body shape everything. Its diferent at every ballet school and the audition I had for my dance school was waaay different to what I was told it would be. So theres not really anything you can do. Just work hard! :D

go on its homepage. its simple

Well, I know its different.
But at my last audition for The Royal Ballet School it was nothing like I was told it'd be, I was told that I'd watch my audition tape with the other people who were auditioning and the judge people and then we'd have a class which would be observed.

But really, We just went in there, got measured and a medical examination.. Then we had class, but it wasn't a normal class.. It was just a lot of turns, jumps and flexibility.. and then they checked our turnout.

I don't know if any of that helps but I think that you don't really know what to expect at these audition things.. just be prepared for everything! =)

Go watch them, or see a performance, thats how i knew what to expect.

this is as much info as you will find, other than going to the actual audition.

The Pennsylvania Ballet and the Rock School of Dance split apart a few years ago, such that the school is no longer affiliated with the company and the company no longer runs their own school.

Here is the main site for the Rock School:

Here is a bit of information on auditions for their main, Rock Centre, program:

The audition is essentially a ballet class and you are judged based on your previous experience.

No one can adequately tell you here about the professional dancer's life, as it would take a book. But for starters, this article might help:
