For the split, just practice your splits, hold the stretch for at least fifteen seconds. For turnout, we do an excercise where you do tondues. It's tondue( count one), turn it in (count two), turnit out (count three), back in fifth (count three), tondue (count five), back to fifth (count six), degaje (count seven), degaje (count eight).

First you do it to the front, then the side, then the back, and then the side again.

do your split and go down farther every day.Or put you leg on a wall and hold it for 2 miniutes every day

a good stretch is the split stretch. u put 1 ft. out and have it flat and the same w/ the back ft. except u put it behind u. then go as far as u can and there u go!

Hi, I also had that problem, all you have to do is split stretches. My dance instructor calls it the "magic stretch" , it gets your hips ready to do a good split that doesn't hurt as bad. What you have to do if you don't know, is......

1. start on your knees staying straight from your hips up
2. put one leg straight out and bend it forward.
3. while keeping your leg in that position lean forward and feel the stretch from your hamstrings, hips and calves while keeping your head up and top half straight
4. then lean back while putting your nose to your knee and feel the stretch in your legs.
5.repeat steps 3-4 a couple more times
6.then when you are on step 4 the last time, take a deep breath in and when you are letting it out, push your bent knee back into your split position and wah-la!

Keep doing that stretch for your splits and I'm sure you will have those splits in no time!!

A good turn-out stretch is what my dance teacher calls "the frog."
1. you lay down on your stomach.
2. put your legs up like you are in passe, but double
3. point your toes up, while keeping your pelvis into the floor.
4. you can rest your head in your hands or can lay your head on the ground.
Do this for about 15 min. everyday, and your turn-out will improve.

Well to get your splits you need to just try to get them everyday.

This is what you do:
1. Stretch out(like you would before or during class)
2. Get in your right split
3. Hold it for about 2-3 minutes.
4. Rest for a couple minutes.
5. Then do left splits
6. go farther each day and you''ll get it!

stand with your legs in turned out second. Plie till your thighs and lower legs make a 90 degree angle. Now put your hands on your knees and push out and back. Hold this for about 2 mins then go into your splits. If you do this every day you should have your splits within a month or 2

this is what u do instead of sitting on the couch when watching TV sit in a split position on the floor it will work sooooo well i got my split with in 2 weeks tops

Sit in a straddle and try to put your elbows on the ground. Then try to put your nose on the ground. pointing your toes to the ceiling) and touch your toes. Hold

For scissor splits try lunges and sitting with your back against the wall and legs out in front and point your feet up (like this for 30 seconds. If you don't feel the stretch try to put your stomach on your legs.

Hope i helped.
