Hmm...the subject was cut off but I'm guessing the last word is pointe! lol! I AM on pointe so don't think I'm just some random person answering this. Losing weight is a tough issue. I can't say I'm overweight but I imagine it puts a lot more strain on your poor toes! First off, make a goal. How much weight do you want to lose? 2 pounds is a good start off goal. If you try hard you will lose more and it will feel better but if you lose 2 pounds its still an acheivement! I like to get a permanent marker and put a big mark on my hands. Try to get a bright orange marker so you will notice it. When you reach for the food you will notice the mark and try to resist. Another good idea is using SMALLER plates. It will seem like you're eating more if you fill the whole plate but really you're eating less! Also blue makes your appetite go away for the most part! Isn't that awesome? Use BLUE plates, BLUE bowls, and paint the your walls BLUE if possible! I hope that helps! I'll pray for you with this!

Hmm...I'm not positive what your quesiton is, but I do want to say that unless you are very over weight it should not be a problem. I don't know who is telling you that you cannot start pointe just because of your weight. I know some girls who are not on the small side and they are in pointe classes and some are better then me and a bunch of other small girls in the class!

It's not your size that makes the dancer, it's the determination, effort and pratice that makes the dancer! Good luck with getting into a pointe class!

I know two great dancers who aren't exactly the smallest people in the world.
However, I have a friend who is slightly overweight and she has problems keeping her balance while on pointe. This may be the reason, or maybe she just has bad balance. Either way, you can get around the weight problem by practicing better balance in FLAT shoes on releve at home.
Unless you try to do stuff that is excessively hard for you to do then nothing should be too dangerous.
