When you pointe your foot (as in not standing on pointe, just doing ballet) most curl their toes. When you stand en pointe, you do not want to curl your toes under, this is known as knuckling. Flex your foot and pointe it from your ankle joint. In order to really pointe your toes you should push the area of your ankle joint and your metarsals. (in the middle of your foot where your arch meets your toes) Make sure your toes are straight. When you roll through in your pointe shoes, be sure that you are not curling your toes, only move your metarsals and bring your toes closer together. Good luck, make sure to speak to your teacher for extra tips.

Many times, just changing style of shoe, will fix knuckling. It did for me.
