Question:i've taken lessons forever on jazz and other dance styles, but when it comes to actual "dancing" like at my high schools homecoming this past saturday, i dont know what to do
and because of this im scared to go to a dance with a guy.

any tips or advice?

U know practically allmost in every place in the world the "now days" dance is woman seducing the guy to have sex by the way they dance, or they (boys and girls) like the closest sansation to that, and normally those girls have a really bad reputation (and guys too), so personally i wouldn't recomend u to try that. Normally it is preferable to just do nothing or to just hav fun with the guy dancing as crazy as u want or just dance how u know how to dance and not even think of what others think, or just hav fun with ur friends. By the way if u feel unsure going out with a guy just relax (i know it's really hard but try at least a tiny little bit, it'll help in some way), that's why go out with a guy u feel comftarble with and that u know he doesn't care wheather u dance different or not (or bad) and likes to hav fun (it's realy hard to find a guy like that though, these days, lol), or at least something similar. relax...if you don't live life to its fullest then you will regret it for the rest of your life! Go dance with all the guys you can and have a good time. don't worry about what others think of you!

It depends on the environment your dancing in. At my high school dances, no one ever grinded (we weren't allowed) and there was maybe one slow dance the whole night. The rest of the time, people just moved around and jumped a bit on the spot. I can tell you that my specialty is jazz and i never used the moves from class at dances. At prom, only a few people were grinding, and that was only because the were drunk. However in a club, dacing does tend to get a lot more sexual where ther we like it or not. It's like your almost expected to grind if your in a club, unless your on a stage or something. Don't worry, at your age the dancing wont go too far. If you wanna dance with a guy the best thing to start off with is a slow dance, its not sexual in any way.
