Position:Home>Dancing> How do you do the irish step in tap?

Question:yeahh.
i forgot the exact steps.
im new to tap this year, and my teacher thouhg its a beginners class besides a few students, since its broken down by age and not skill, gets frustrated if you dont understand right away and puts you with the slower group for everything if you don't do one little thing right.
I don't want to be in the slower group.
ew.
im a good dancer, just not great at tap yet.
i know the irish step has something with a shuffle (ithink) and either a leap or a hop.
anyone can tell me?
i need to remember for monday.
thanks :]

This is tricky, because I kind of know a couple that sounds similair :S

But I think I know the one that your talking about...

Hop on one foot (L),

Shuffle on other foot (R),

Step (R) and transfer the weight.

Remember that a hop is: weight on one foot spring and alight on the ball of same foot

shuffle is: a forward hit and a backward hit done quickly

hope this helps and good luck in tap :)

I don't really know the steps, but it does kind of like a shuffle. A very helpful excersize when you practice it is to visualize a dinner plate on the floor, and only dance on the plate.
