Present it just as you have done in this question. I know that sounds stupid, but you might try it. Try to find a time where the teacher is not getting ready for a class so you have time to really talk about it. I know that prior to my first year of pointe, my teacher made me answer all of the questions you've answered here about your turn-out, ankles, etc. Just make it sound like you are very interested, and see where it goes from there. Don't stress about it too much. Most teachers are excited to hear that their students want to progress. Even if you don't end up doing it, you've put the seed in his or her head. I guarantee that it will grow, and sooner or later you'll get what you want!
