Question:I want to get my right splits down by May for dance team tryouts. Right now, I am about 10 inches from the ground at the crotch and I stretch using pillows for the front leg and removing them. Any other suggestions?

i know this may sound very weird, but if you can get pretty far in middle splits its going to be much easier to do right and left

stretch your legs in a V against the wall and push yourself (sitting) put music on beforehand and put the song on repeat (song should be 3-5min) and then after the song ends lay down and do the same then when it repeats again lay on the floor with your legs against the wall and drop them to the sides (do this one for2songs)

try to do splits ON EACH LEG afterwards for one song each (without pillows, itll add pressure) just bend over and put your hands on the floor

sit down and stretch your legs out straight and bend over as far as you can for 30secs

stretch your legs between a square tables legs and lean over to the right (20secs), left (20secs), right (10secs), left (10secs), and middle (one song)

do right splits 20secs left 20secs

umm I have my right ones down, but I can't do strattles or my left leg ones down well at all. Try the sit test, slowing stretching and adding pressure. Try to stand on one leg while your other leg is outstretched, staying down close to the floor (it should look like a spider man move while doing) or just do the butterfly. Yoga helped me. Try that. I know it's hard, but everything takes work. Good luck!
to increase your flexibility, stretch every night. but before this, do some kind of exercise like go for a quick jog or dance for about 20 minutes prior to stretching. then sit on your butt on the floor and stretch. after that just practice your splits and everyday you do it you will go further and further until you get it. its important to do something to relax your muscles before stretching otherwise you will pull a muscle. also practicing high kicks will help stretch your hamstrings which helps majorly. good luck!
