Position:Home>Dancing> I am new to dancing.i am 13.will i b able to take hiphop&jazz @ a studio & keep

Question:I LOVE DANCE but most teenage dancers start when they're like really little. I am willing to work hard & I really want to dance. I love performing on stage. Studio dancers are really dedicated and really good. If I start now, do I have any chance at being good? I am very fast learner & I listen to music all the time, I can feel the beats but I am not that flexible. What do you think? Also, if I start now, do I have any chance of making the high school dance team at tryouts in the spring?

yea you should start now and to become more flexible i do yoga and i love to dance( i do bout an hour a day- good exercise) i never took any classes i just learned from watching music videos and movies
im fifteen and i started when i was 3 or so
and my friend started when she was lik 10 and shes not that bad it takes alot of practice- ALOT of practice ohh yea be sure to became flexible with you hips and back bone and stomach if your not flexible there moving your legs and hands isn't much so that is very important e-mail me for information
The least you can do is try.

I have known dancers who started at 14 and ended up being some of the best dancers at my studio, it's all about how much time you are going to commit to practicing inside and outside of the studio.

I say go for it, and good luck!
if u try hard enough
Your body is more "mature" now -- it "learns" faster than little kids (they are mostly just jumping around). So YES! Of course you will keep up and you have plenty of time to become a great dancer.
try your hardest. you will have to live, eat, and breathe dance to catch up on 'lost time.' but totally don't worry, my dance teacher started at 14 and she is absolutely AMAZING. hopefully you'll make tryouts! good luck! :)
