2. Find a friend who knows how to dance and have them teach you.

If all else fails, step to the beat, move with the music, and make sure that you have your all your weight firmly on one leg or the other, but never both at the same time. depends how old you are. but jst don't be too raunchy - cos remember its a school dance, and not a club! Move to the music. It's hard to explain how to dance. Just go with the flow.
