Do you think guys who dance are "feminine"?

when I told the guys on my cricket team I danced, they started kidding me about it. I do Ballroom, Davidic, Jazz, and a little Hip-Hop dancing. I really enjoy it. My brothers and sisters dance too. Except they mostly do hip-hop and breakdancing. I'm the only one who does Davidic and Ballroom. Don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna quit just because I get teased. but I was just wondering. Why does everybody think that guys who dance are girly? I, for one, am not girly. Is that the general assumption that everyone has?

I, my friend, am a professional Ballroom Dance instructor as well as a hip-hop choreographer, Latin instructor, Swing Instructor, Modern performer, free-style genius... I dance just about everything (including Ballet!... excluding Davidic). I've been ragged on for years from the guys... especially when I was in the Military. Tell them the same thing I do... "Buddy you just went hunting and slept in a tent with a guy for two weeks... my hands were all over every girl at the club."

It's only girlie if you feel like it is. How many other guys in the world can walk out onto a dance floor and make a lady breathe as heavy as you can? My entire dating/social life is now based on the fact that I can dance. VIP into clubs everywhere, recognition for performing, getting paid to dance... it's led me to opportunities DJing and managing... the business opportunities are insane, the girls are plenty, and the money is great. Life experience... Yup. No. I don't. That's very attractive. You're going to be very popular with the ladies. ;) it's only girlish if a guy hula, belly or ballet dances i think guys who dance are exotic, original and sexy.. so whenever someone tells you dancing is girly just let me know and ill reboost you confidence... and btw just as long as you're happy doing what you do u shouldn't give a **** what other people think, it'll only hold you back... Maybe ballet dancers. I personally cant dance but I knew this one guy that did salsa very well, this guy was the ugliest mother ****** I have ever seen, but when he danced he had women all over him. Gorgeous ones, so hey, I got to give him credit there and nothing feminine about scoring with dozens of hot women so I say go for it man. I, for one do not equate a man who enjoys dancing to be "feminine". I wish I could be like you in that regard. On the flip side, I used to be a distance runner, and I would tell teammates that if they had enough energy to go dancing, then they didn't run hard enough during practice. depends on how "feminine" their moves are. But no, a lot of girls think it's sexy. No!

My boyfriend dances hip-hop and dances to trance music (what ever that type of dance is called) and he is great at it. He and I were thinking of getting into latin dancing because I have done salsa before and think it is sexy and seductive. It shows that you have an expressive quality that most males do not. It also shows that you have motivation, energy and talent.

People thinks that guys dancing is girly because of the stereotype placed on male dancers. The people who make fun of it cannot dance and most likely have no interest in trying. You have one up on them...no worries! Honestly no. I think everyone should dance at least some. It's good for you and it releases stress. I'm glad to hear that there's some guy in this world who isn't afraid to do what he likes just cause it's not socially accepted. Keep it up. Michael Caine claims in his biography that he got into acting when he was in school because there were no other guys interested in theater, hence, no competition for the girls attention. The same might apply to your situation. There is nothing feminine about performing, be it dance, acting or singing. People tend to attack things that they don't understand. Don't let it get to you, if dancing makes you happy, then dance... Heck no! It is sexy!! Most women love to dance and to have a guy who can dance makes it that much more enjoyable!! Well on the first season there was this guy named Travis Wall.
And boy oh boy could he dance. And girls loved it. I think that no matter what kind of dance it is.. It isn't fem.. But if you decide to wear a tutu then maybe a little fem. but other then that no. Its pretty cool. the guys on you're cricket team are just knockin yah cause they obviously don't know how much it means to you. :]
Keep dancing. God no. I know several men that dance and they're all very strong. You have to be strong to dance. A lot of football teams make their players take a course of ballet. :) The dancers I know are not even a little feminine. But there's nothing wrong with being feminine of course, a lot of girls like a guy whose feminine. The reason why guys think that way is because they dont dance. So they make fun out of guys who do. There is nothing funny abt dancing. They just hv no idea what they are missing.

I was learning line dancing and some ballroom dancing which was very popular in my country. It was fun and i enjoyed it. It is a good way to keep fit too. Guys who know how to dance is sexy as fuq :) there's nothing wrong with it!
my best friend is a boy and he does ballet and people used to tease him but then he entered this big competition and won.
so really it proves that all men can't dance and they shouldn't be ashame dof it!
for all you know another guy on your team might dance too! No. I think it's very masculine when a man leads me on the dance floor. Dancers are also amazing athletes. no wayyyyyy No that's lame. Plus I think it'd be cool to dance with someone with ability, 'cause i have none. I think ballet is a little weird for guys but not feminine. i dont think so, i think there sexy it totally depends on the guy
