I-DONT-WANT-TO-BE-A-STRIPPER You know what? Ignore these people. It is perfectly alright to want to learn how to pole dance because it DOES make you feel sexy and it's fun. It'd keep you in great shape. And you're saying you don't want to be a stripper or anything so, go for it.

Just try and get a removable one so you can hide it when people are over. Nice Girl, nice girls do not have poles in their bedrooms -even for gymnastics. Gymnasts don't use poles in their routines. I know, I was on my high school gymnastics team, and continue to follow gymnastics closely. Poles are for strippers. Talk to your parents, it's their opinion that guides your life. if that's all you want when your older then i think you should apply for welfare now. you will have no time to pole dancing because you will trying to figure out who is your baby's daddy. ryt now its popular to do pole dancing as exercise, but no matter wat anyone says, havin a pole in ur house is only gonna make ppl think ur a stripper or wannabe. Actually, you are correct. Pole dancing is a lot of fun, incorporates gymnastics with upper and lower body strength and enhances flexibility.

The problem with pole dancing is that it is often seen as a sexual item, when you say 'stripper' people don't just think about a person who removes cloths for money. They think someone who is selling her body for sex, drugs, and/or money.

I would refrain from having one in your room until you're a bit older. However, there are 'exotic' dance classes that you can take when you're over 18 that will teach you how to pole and chair dance, in a way that makes you feel good about yourself and is consistant with an exercise routine.

Until then, maybe take a gymnastics cource, stretch frequently, lift weights with your upper and lower body. Because, when you're on the pole, there is nothing keeping you there but you. Poles are often cleaned (sanitation) and oiled - less friction, which means the more advanced/complicated moves are even harder, because nothing (not gravity or friction) is working on your side.
