Homecoming dance?

Homecoming dance?

im a freshmen this year and my homecoming is around two weeks away and I dont think I want to go to it...is this normal? I've never gone to any school dances before because I didnt' really think I'd like them and people said they sucked. Should I skip it this year and go in sophmore, junior and senior?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Don't worry, i know how you feel. I don't like going to dances either because they do suck at times. I'm a sophomore right now and I didn't go to homecoming last year either. This year, I was wondering if I should go, but I'm not sure. It's normal not to go to dances if you don't want to. You should go when you really feel like it, you'll enjoy it better :) A lot of my friends arent going to my homecoming either.
It's completely normla but if you've never been to a school dance ever, I suggest going because well at least the ones I've been to are awesomely awesome. I've been to every dance that I was allowed to go to since Jr. High, and I made sure, even if the music was horrible
(literally horrible, like 70's country bad) that I had a great time. I think that you should go since you haven't been to one yet, so that you can actually find out whether you like it or not, believe me, you'll never know until you go :) Also, it doesn't matter if you have a date or not, sometimes I had more fun when I didn't have a date. And don't be afraid to dance! If you don't dance at all you won't have any fun.
