Hurt myself dancing lol :P...?


Okay so i just got the splits and i've been doing it everyday to make sure i dont lose it :P but yesterday i realllyyy hurt my front leg, and i asked a couple of my dance teachers about it today and they said that i had torn a lot of the muscles in the top part of my leg near my hip and did something to the area under my knee. They all told me to see a doctor and physiotherapist..

but is there anything i can do now to try to help get it better? Before i see the doctor? They told me not to stretch because that builds up more scar tissue so i dont know what else to do though ? :S Its just that have 3 more dance classes in the next 2 days and i probably cant get an appointment for atleast five? And i cant miss them.

I'm guessing a whole bunch of you have had this happen before so can you help me?? I havent hurt myself this badly before so I do't really know what to do :S

again, i absolutley CANNOT miss dance. It's my first year in competitive and if i do they will kick me out.

again, i absolutley CANNOT miss dance. It's my first year in competitive and if i do they will kick me out. If you absolutely cannot miss your dance classes, then go but stop immediately when it starts hurting, otherwise you'll just make it worse. Explain to your teachers what happened, they'll understand. It would be better if you didn't dance at all on it, so if that's possible, do that. (If you have to be at your dances classes for rehearsing a performance or routine, see if you can either observe or not dance full out)

Make sure you see the doctor ASAP!!! If you keep dancing on a serious injury, it will only get worse! Source(s):
Recovering from a dance injury. what did the doctor say? Dont waste time. C yr doctor. There is nothing you can do to get back to the dance . You have to rest or else you will be making the situation worse and that will mean more rest.See your physio for immediate help. well, if u can't miss it and u can't dance go there to watch that is was someone did last year when they broke there arm and they could not dance for a long time but when she could dance agion she knew it all from watching lol umm , well unless you're part of a major dance school where you're training 20 hours a week , then you should probably take a break , because if you don't it WILL get worst.
don't go see a doctor go see a sports/ dance physiotherapist because a doctor will probably only tell you something so simple as ice it which won't help in the long term.
Stretch only to an extent!!!
