In the days of the gold prospectors, these men were living miles from the nearest town, so to make their own entertainment they would get up in turn and do a bit of dancing.this eventually turned into them all getting up and all doing their own thing. This became more co-ordinated after a while where they would form a line to do the dancing, and attempt to do it all together. That is how it all started.
