Instructions Please?

I've never done a front to back split. How do I get limber enough to do one? How long does it usually take? I want to join a dance team and it is required. I'm not trying out until spring, so I have a lot of time to practice. Please tell me step by step instructions on how to do one. Much appreciated!


Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: ummm, not to be mean but u kind of need to get goin.....if you aren't naturally limber and flexible your going to need a while. start out by just stretching your legs out, on in front and one in back......your going have to do each side, alternating legs..

one of the most important things to remember is that its going to hurt like HELL probably and your bodys instinct is going to be to make your legss pull back and stop but you really have to go against the pain and KEEP YOUR KNEES STAIT and TOES POINTED. try to keep your back as strait as possible. just use your hands to hold yourself up untill you get far enough down that your legs support themselves. once your able to sit down and do the splits your almoast there!!! now when u start to stretch bend ur front leg while keeping the back leg strait....then switch keeping the front strait and the back bent...then do the full splits. good luck
