Question:

Does anyone have a detailed method for learning to do the splits in less than 3 weeks?

3 weeks until i go to school(highschool =S) and dancing usually starts a few days before that. I do jazz and ballet(though i think i want to quit jazz because i am way better at ballet and i need more time for my studies + it will leave my family in a better financial state) and i am going to be in grade 2. Everyone can do the splits - except me. I want to learn the splits before i go back to dancing. Does anyone have a detailed method for learning the splits in less than 3 weeks?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Be sure to warm up your muscles well. You can try a starting with a step-touch and move on to something more vigorous like jogging in place, bringing your knees up high. When you've got your muscles properly warmed up, stretch your legs as if you're going into the splits, but don't go down very far at first. Do this both in the morning and at night and try to relax your muscles when you stretch. You should be able to go down a little further each day. You can use a chair for support. You may not be able to get safely all the way down into the splits in just 3 weeks if you don't have a lot of flexibility already, but with time and dedication, you should be able to do it.
