What attire should I wear for Modern Dance? a leotard? what else? thansk!?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I disagree with most of these answers. If you're an adult...you'll be way over-dressed in formal dance attire.

If you're an adult, taking an adult beginner, intermediate, advanced, or professional class...you can wear yoga pants/gouchos and a tank top. (You'll need a good sports bra underneath) Make sure your hair is out of your face...a ponytail will do. Bare feet are recommended so that you can "feel the floor."

If you're a teenager taking a pre-professional class, you can wear a leotard and footless tights. But your studio will most likely have rules regarding the dress code. I'd recommend calling the studio to make sure you're dressed appropriately.

PS-You only need a modern dance/sandal thong if you have sensitive skin on your feet and you think you might rip the skin. I recommend taking a class first and seeing how your feet hold up before you spend your money on shoes.
