Question:

Can a dancer please explain what a 'battement tendu a la seconde a terre en face' is?

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Battement tendu is the more formal name for a simple tendu, which is sliding your straight leg on the floor until it is stretched out in a pointed position. Battement does NOT mean "beat" here.

A la seconde means the outstreched foot is pointed to the side.

A terre means "on the floor".

En face means that you are facing straight forward, not at an angle.
